gPodder Bug Tracker – Bug 2053
Norton Internet Security 184.108.40.206 reports gPodder 3.8.5 as "Trojan.Gen.SMH"

Norton reported a trojan today when running gpodder. Downloaded the latest file, and Norton reported it before trying to install. The previous version I have 3.8.1 is clean.

gPodder 3.8.5 got quaranteed a few hours after I installed it, not when I ran it. I reinstalled 3.8.0 with no issues so far

From the NIS quarantine log:
12/9/2015 7:41:30 PM,High,gpodder.exe (Trojan.Gen.SMH) detected by Auto-Protect,Quarantined,Resolved - No Action Required,c:\program files\gpodder\gpodder.exe
the MD5 checksum for the Setup file matched that mentioned in bug#2051

"Trojan.Gen.SMH is a generic detection for many individual but varied Trojans for which specific definitions have not been created. A generic detection is used because it protects against many Trojans that share similar characteristics."
This is a duplicate of bug 2051, and is probably a false positive with Norton. Please scan the affected files with a different virus scanner.
