gPodder Bug Tracker – Bug 1908
Last modified: 2014-07-12 22:24:24 BST
I'm using gpodder for a while now and it's the best one out there for n9. I have couple of improvement ideas, so here it goes...
I was using 'podcasting' app on symbian os for a long time and what I miss here is the possibility to move from first item on list to the very last one in a heartbit. And vice versa.
I'd imagine something similar to a circular buffer but for list items:
[ Third.... ]
[ Second to last item ]
[ Last item here ]
[ *** Newest items below *** ] <- extra item to mark beginning of the list
[ Newest item ]
[ Second newest item ]
I have set up podcast archive for catching up with radio shows (I'm already over a year behind but slowly but steadily ploughing through) But that means it's already 500+ episodes long. To get to the last episode by simple swiping is very inconvenient at best. I had to rewrite my feed sources to fake episode date and by doing this artificially reversing episodes order, but I lost the real airing date. I was lucky enough that I was in total control over the feed generation but It wouldn't be possible with external feeds, would it?
Fixed in http://gpodder.org/commit/67246e23 by adding dynamic buttons that scroll to the bottom/top (no circular lists) - will be part of the next release.
As long as it does the job. Cheers! :-)
