gPodder Bug Tracker – Bug 1728
need option to display DATE instead of DAY
Last modified: 2012-12-22 10:57:38 GMT
under the RELEASED column, the day of the week is displayed instead of the date for recent releases. This drives me nuts. I find it easier to figure out which podcast I need by DATE. The day of the week is confusing and makes it hard to follow podcast releases IMHO.
Can you kindly add an option to ALWAYS display the date under the Released column, even for recent releases? I prefer to sort my Podcast by Released so that the most recent date (not day) is at the top of the column.
I won't implement this in upstream gPodder, as it's not something that normal users would want (I and some other people actually like detecting recent episodes by their weekday name, and it does not have any effect on the sort order, obviously).
You can fix it yourself locally by editing src/gpodder/util.py
In function "def format_date(timestamp):", you have to:
- Remove the two ifs that return "Today" and "Yesterday"
- Remove the then branch of "if diff < 7:" and only use the else branch
After that, gPodder will behave the way you described it in this bug report.
