|Summary:||Norton 360 reports gPodder 3.8.5 as "Trojan.Gen.SMH"|
|Component:||Application||Assignee:||Thomas Perl <thp>|
Description djkanter 2015-12-06 17:09:01 GMT
Norton reported a trojan today when running gpodder. Downloaded the latest file, and Norton reported it before trying to install. The previous version I have 3.8.1 is clean. Thought you'd want to know.

I just checked the files with virustotal.com and www.metascan-online.com, the former reports all clean and the latter reports 1 issue, so this is probably a false positive. To check whether you downloaded the correct files that we released, please verify the checksums: The SHA1-Checksums of the releases: 98b29f8bd0f3447e1e41185c0bac958d59c673b6 gpodder-3.8.5-win32.zip e8100544888f1ce4d1f594ec1bb514facd28fdb9 gpodder-3.8.5-setup.exe The MD5-Checksums of the releases: 6d5f3757df46e48029ad833c7b7d531b gpodder-3.8.5-win32.zip 0e47fece4730db74e7652b40cbd0b4b1 gpodder-3.8.5-setup.exe If in doubt, you can always build gPodder from the source code and study the source code to be sure that there are no unwanted side effects.
